What is true happiness? No really! What is it? Well, happiness is obviously a feeling. Therefore, to understand true happiness, you first have to understand what creates emotion, and it all starts with thought. For example, what you think about determines how you feel, how you feel determines how you act, and how you act determines how you feel, which again determines what you think, and so on. It's a perpetual cycle of thought-feeling-action.
Therefore, in order to achieve true happiness, you have to think in a certain way, to feel certain emotions, to motivate and inspire you to act in various ways. That will make you happy. But what a lot of people don't know is there are actually four minds, processed by one brain. And so, when people say they're in two minds about something, they're actually in four minds about it. And having four minds, means there are actually four ways to think, and they are adventure, talent, passion, and wisdom.
Adventure
Adventure is living a more adventurous life, by trying new things, exploring your world, and doing all the things you've always wanted to do. To do that, you need to think about what you really want to do in life, what excites you the most, what’s the most fun for you, what challenges you, what rewards you, and so on. Those thoughts will make you feel excited, and it’s the feeling of great excitement, which actually motivates you to step out of your comfort zone, and do whatever you have to do to have more fun and live a more adventurous life. Doing so will make you feel even more excited about life, which makes you think more adventurous thoughts, which makes you feel more excited, which makes you take on bigger, more exciting adventures and challenges. It's a beautiful cycle.
Talent
Talent is being really good at doing something you enjoy doing. To do that, you need to think about how you can get better at doing it, new and better ways to do it, how to achieve your goals, and how successful you wish to be at doing it, and so on. Those thoughts will make you feel determined, enthusiastic, and willing; which will motivate you to learn new skills, practise your existing skills into talent, overcome failure, solve problems, and so on. That competent action will make you feel even more determined to improve, as well as feeling “good enough” - confident, accomplished, and successful. That will drive to develop even more talent, achieve great things, and do things to the best of your ability.
Passion
Passion is sharing who you are with the world, in the most creative and authentic way possible. To do that you need to think about how you can be yourself, and express yourself, by doing what you really want to do, and in the way you really want to do it, because that's just who you are as a person - rather than doing what everybody else expects you to do, just to keep people happy, or get approval, or fit in, or avoid conflict. It's not being selfish; it's being true to self. And you really have no choice, because being someone you are not, only causes depression.
In other words, to be a truly passionate person requires you to think about yourself for a change - who you really are as a person, what you want, what makes you happy, how you want to achieve it, and how you wish to express that, so others can benefit and be inspired by your beautifully unique self.
It’s perfect self-expression, and such thoughts will make you feel unique, important, distinct, and sovereign. When you feel like that, you’ll be inspired to stand up for yourself, say “No!” to dream crushers, say “Yes!” to life, stay true to yourself, and embrace the conflict your non-conformity might create. That (when done properly) will make you feel even more passionate about being and developing your exceptionally and wonderfully unique self.
Wisdom
And wisdom is learning as much as you can, so you know as much as possible about yourself, people, life. Especially yourself, which you can only do by living a more adventurous life, so you know what you like and dislike; developing your skills into talents, so you know what you're good at and enjoy doing; and being your true passionate-self so you know what you really want to do and how you really want to do it. That also forces you to apply your knowledge in real life situations and circumstances, so you can prove to yourself, if what you know is actually true for you or not, for that is the only real truth.
To do that, you need to think about what you think about. You have to think about what you believe, what you envisage, how you perceive the world, who you are, and what you enjoy doing. You have to be open-minded yet discerning, teachable yet willing to question everything, sovereign yet allowing and compassionate. You also have to learn to let go of limiting and outdated belief systems, and maintain a positive attitude.
That kind of thinking will make you feel astute, perceptive, compassionate, and positive; which will inspire you to learn even more about yourself, people, and life; for an even greater understanding about everything, heading towards personal enlightenment.
Satisfying all four pillars of the mind is the only way you will ever achieve true lasting happiness and balance in your life. The best way to do that is to live your dreams. In other words, do what really excites you (adventure), do it to the best of your ability (talent), do it your way and express it uniquely (passion), and do it for more life-experience (wisdom). You can do that in your lifestyle, hobbies, past-time, or even as a full-time career (our favourite). If you do, everything else will take care of itself - motivation, inspiration, income, relationships, health, your purpose in life, joy, and even love itself.
Sadly however, our experience has shown, most people don't live their dreams because most people don't know what the four pillars of mind are, or how to satisfy all four in a balanced way. That is why most people are bored, frustrated, depressed and confused about life respectively, because those are the four main symptoms of not satisfying the four mind-pillars. In fact, our experience has shown most people suffer from all four of those symptoms … most of the time.
That’s why we created the “Find Your True Purpose in life” workshop, because it helps people identify all the characteristics within them that will satisfy all four pillars of mind. It then narrows down those characteristics into what motivates and inspires them the most, so their true life purpose jumps off the page in front of their eyes. And that’s either a purpose they may never have even thought of before, or confirming their current purpose is the right for them, or tweaking their existing purpose for more joy.
If you’d like to know more about this process, or how to find your own true-purpose in life, I have created a free eBook called “Find Your True Purpose in Life". To get your copy of this eBook, click here
