What If You Get It Wrong?

The FINDING True Purpose Workshop shows you to work out what your true purpose is — either by hand on a piece of paper, or letting our AI-assistant Bodhi work it out for you. There is another post that covers what if Bodhi gets it wrong, which you can read about by clicking here.

In this post I'd like to cover, what if you get it wrong? Because what if you do? What if you misinterpret the detailed instructions in our workshops, do the process incorrectly, and chose the 'wrong' purpose for yourself? What if your deep subconscious fears get the better of you, you limit and suppress your answers, which limits and suppresses your purpose?

Well, let's say you did. Let’s say you created or chose the wrong purpose. That’s not as big a problem as you might think it is, and here’s why.

Firstly, any form of true-purpose-exercise is still going to help refine and define your purpose in life. It may not be perfect, but it will still be 'better' than what you had. Plus, purpose-processes open the mind to greater possibilities for yourself — and over time, your mind will start feeding back great ideas to you about a possible new direction in life. That can sometimes be more important than the purpose process itself. It sometimes not about the what you get out of a process, but what the process does to your mind.

Second, it's always better to make a wrong decision than no decision at all. Because one of the worst aspects of fear is it's ability to avoid change, to keep you stuck and stagnant in a limited routine and comfort zone. So, if you did choose the 'wrong' purpose, and head down the completely 'wrong' direction in life, at least that decision has created change in your life, and change is always good for you.

As long as a person is moving forward in life —even if it's in the 'wrong direction' — forward momentum always leads to growth, growth always leads to evolution, and a person's evolution always brings them back to the right path eventually. It’s like you go off track for a while, get misdirected and a bit lost, but life is setup to ensure you always find your way home.

And how can I be so confident about that? Well, there are two reasons for that.

Reason 1: Your heart will guide you.
Everyone has a built in emotional compass. Humans will do almost anything to feel good, and avoid almost anything that makes them feel bad.

If you go down the wrong path, it will feel bad. The further you move away from your true direction in life, the worse it will feel. You’ll eventually feel so bad about what you do and who you are, you’ll snap! You'll wake up one day and think, “**** this! I'm sick and tired of this shit! I've had enough. I can’t do this anymore" ... and you'll make a radical change in your life for the better, which puts you back on track.

Reason 2: Your Soul will guide you.

This next idea means we have to get into the deeper side of true purpose and talk about the Soul — and that's the non-religious version of the Soul. Your Soul is a real force, which I have experienced first-hand during a life-changing out-of-body experience I had in 2003. I know it exists, I know it’s real, and I know how to tap into it’s power, which I share in Level 4 workshop.

Your Soul is the higher version or bigger version of you (YOU). It’s YOU, and it has a vested interest in you living the most adventurous, talented, passionate, understanding, joyful life possible — your true purpose.

Consequently, your Soul will do whatever it can to guide you towards your truest purpose in life. Your Soul’s guidance are the synchronicities of life that seem like “weird” coincidences, but are in fact your Soul placing information, circumstances, resources, and opportunities in front of you, to get you to find and live your true purpose in the fastest easiest way possible.

But your Soul can only guide you if you’ve already made a decision, and already moving forward in some direction — right or wrong. It can’t guide you if you’re stuck in indecision, and not going anywhere — you cannot steer a parked car!

That’s why it’s OK to make a wrong decision, because if you're moving forward, your Soul can place those synchronicities in front of you, so you “walk into them”. Hopefully you won’t ignore them and “walk past them” like so many people do. But if you do see them, and you act on them, it will help steer you back on track. Especially if you know how to work with your Soul’s guidance, which I show you how to do in Level 4.

So, don’t worry about getting your purpose wrong. In some regards, it’s actually easier for your Soul to get you back on track if you're living the “wrong” choice, than it is to get you back on track if you’re living the “right” choice. It’s a classic case of: You cannot know what you want, until you have experienced what you don’t want.
